Waikarā Marae and Whakarongotai Urupā Trust exists to support the cultural, social, educational, and wellbeing needs of the community connected to Waikarā Marae. The Trust maintains and protects the marae and urupā as places of cultural significance where tikanga Māori, whakapapa, and mātauranga are preserved and passed on to future generations.
Through the care and operation of the marae, the Trust provides a place for whānau, hapū and the wider community to gather for hui, tangihanga, wānanga
