Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Preserve, maintain and develop Whakapaumahara Marae for the benefit of ngā hapū descendants o Ngāti Rehua, Whānau Whero and Te Akitai and the wider community of Whananaki. Develop and implement plans and initiatives that will advance and improve the cultural, spiritual, physical, educational and economic wellbeing of ngā hapū and the community surrounding Whakapaumahara Marae.

Entity Structure

An elected body of Trustees are responsible for the day to day administration of the Marae. Trustees are elected at Annual General Hui and hold office for a 3 year term. This body elects a chairperson and deputy and a secretary and or/treasurer.
