Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of Photosynthesis will be to operate an inclusive, accessible and affordable creative studio and darkoom in Ōtautahi/Christchurch that will enable and support visual fine art photographers by providing them with the tools and space they require to create high quality art.

Entity Structure

We do not have a fixed office, as our trust deed states that the office of the Trust will be in such place in New Zealand as the Board of Trustees may from time to time determine. We operate Photosynthesis, the creative studio, in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our trust deed states that we must have between three and five Trustees. We currently have three Trustees that constitute our governance board, including three executive positions: director, treasurer and secretary.
