Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Whakatū Girls Rugby Trust aims to empower wāhine/girls to reach their potential both on and off the rugby field. We will build on the foundations of team sport, combining it with the encouragement of our girls to love the game through self-confidence, positive body image, and the value of friendships. We want rugby to be a safe and enjoyable game for all to enjoy. We aim to make the game accessible to all girls, and we will do that by ensuring that girls recognise rugby as a fun game for them to try, ensuring cost to participate is never a barrier, and demonstrating clear pathways in the game for the future. We want our programme to be recognised as a positive sport environment where girls can grow their self-esteem alongside their rugby skills.
