Charitable Purpose

The charitable purposes encompass: • presenting innovative performances and recordings of new and traditional choral music; • providing educational opportunities for student singers, conductors, composers and musicians; • supporting New Zealand choral artists; • supporting New Zealand composers; and • promoting equitable outcomes and ensuring equitable opportunity and access for artists and audiences to participate in and experience the choral artform.

Entity Structure

The Auckland Chamber Choir (the Choir) was originally established in 2006 and since that time, has been run and organised by the School of Music at the University of Auckland (the University). A trust has recently been established to enable the Choir to develop an organisational structure that is independent of the University and concomitantly, a broader funding base, while maintaining the special relationship between the two organisations.
