Canterbury Zurkhaneh is a sports and community intersection group created to facilitate: (i) Zurkhaneh training (ii) Public performances (iii) Public education and lectures (iv) Musical and poetic pedagogy (v) Intercultural exchange (vi) Procurement and production of equipment (vii) Support of Persianate cultural traditions within the Iranian and Afghan communities

Entity Structure

We are based in Christchurch and incorporated as a non-for-profit NZ Limited Company. We are based in Christchurch. Our trust deed states that we must have between three and seven Trustees, including three executive positions: president, treasurer, and secretary. We are an independent organization and not affiliated with any organization. We exist from the promotion of the Zurkhaneh sport and cultural activities.
