Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Māori and Pasifika youth are overrepresented in key social metrics, and underrepresented in positive key metrics. Our purpose is to contribute to the improvement of these metrics, by empowering youth who may be exposed, with purpose, skills, and self-belief. With a voice and seat at the table, it can help improve these metrics.

Entity Structure

Bridge The Gap started in Otara, South Auckland, with a group of locals who grew up and still in the area with a passion to work with our disengaged and hard to reach youth. We initially started our work as Bridge the Gap as part of the management group for the 2019 Otara Bike Stuntz Competition and our 2020 competition with Community Builders NZ as the co-founding members. We are now focusing on supporting youth into employment and/or training.
