The Manaaki Ruahine Trust area encompasses Ngā Pae Maunga o Ruahine, connected maunga, whenua, and waterways. Ngā Pae Maunga o Ruahine gives birth to many awa and nourishes the surrounding whenua. The Trust is established for charitable purposes as follow:
a. To protect the delicate ecosystems of the Trust area and to restore the area’s indigenous biodiversity;
b. To support ecological projects in the Trust area;
c. To advocate for Ngā Pae Maunga o Ruahine; and
d. To promote Mātauranga o ngā
