Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of Te Wai Mauri Limited is not for profit. The Company has been established by Te Wai Mauri Trust to employ and train 10 unemployed staff members to undertake riparian and wetland planting, fencing of waterways and pest control. The primary focus of the Company is to restore the mauri of our local river catchments working in partnership with DOC, HB Regional Council, Napier City Council and Hastings District Council.

Entity Structure

The Chair of Te Wai Mauri Trust has been appointed as the Chair of the Company. Three other Directors have been appointed to govern the Company. A contracted Programme Manager has also been appointed to assist with the establishment of our not for profit services and to recruit and train the ten staff. All of these staff are being drawn from unemployed people registered with the Ministry for Social Development.
