Charitable Purpose

Manta Watch New Zealand Charitable Trust's vision is a sustainable future for mobulid (manta and devil) rays in Aotearoa New Zealand waters. Therefore, our mission is to foster knowledge of and advocacy for Aotearoa New Zealand’s oceanic ecosystems through research, conservation, education, and engagement.

Entity Structure

Our head office is based in Auckland. Our organisation currently has two trustees and can have a maximum of eight. Key responsibilities are currently divided between our two trustees, we have plans to expand in the near future. We are affiliated with international charities the Manta Trust and Conservation International, which provides guidance and support but does not control or in any way direct our operations.
