Charitable Purpose

The Paihia Historical Legacy Society has the educational and community benefit purposes of increased public understanding of the formative events and relationships that underpinned and surrounded the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, particularly through the work of the CMS missionaries who established the Paihia Mission in 1823, as a legacy of the Paihia Bicentennial in 2023, as more fully detailed in the preamble to the Society's rules.
