Charitable Purpose

Ruawharo Marae Trust's purpose is to provide a venue complete with full facilities for groups and the wider community to meet and greet. Running programs, wananga, communty projects e.g: Enviromental and biological research. Social gathering, Funerals, School stays, Club events and community fundraising events. The Marae is often used for monthly meetings as well as a venue for other Organisations to have have their meeting.

Ruawharo Marae Trustee is a marae on Māori Reservation Land. The Māori Reservation Regulations 1994 require that where a reservation is a marae the trustees of the reservation shall draw up, in agreement with the beneficiaries of the marae, a charter for the reservation. A copy of the Ruawharo Marae Trustee charter is published below. This charter is not a part of the formal rules of the marae as required under s17(1)(c) of the Charities Act 2005.
