Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

WSB aspires to develop and promote basketball among the Samoan Community across the Wellington region. Using basketball as a vehicle, allow athletes to recognise and maintain connections with their heritage and identity. Provide a central hub where, through targeted partnerships and affiliation, offer athletes information and tools to help and support growth and success by advocating well-being through participation. Build a sustainable infrastructure to empower our youth through basketball.

Entity Structure

Wellington Samoa Basketball is governed by Committee. The committee meets on a monthly basis, or as required. Committee members are volunteers and operational tasks are managed by members of the committee. Wellington Samoa Basketball apply for grant funding from Fund Organisations to help support teams within Wellington Samoa Basketball with costs of entering tournaments.
