Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To encourage and support the education and development of aspiring musicians from Otago and throughout New Zealand by creating a professional performance platform for them, including (by way of example only) a live backing band, experienced industry adjudicators and live audiences.

Entity Structure

We are a committee of volunteers based in Dunedin. Our trust deed states that we must have between five and seven Trustees. We currently have six Trustees that constitute our governance board, including three executive positions: president, treasurer and secretary. We are not affiliated with a national body, however we work within the outlines of our Charitable Trust Deed, and have clear rules to ensure transparency and integrity in the events that we run.
