Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

We're driven by our conviction that the Jersey Breed is integral to the continued s New Zealand's Dairy Industry. The challenge for Jerseys is not one of profitability or efficiency, it is one of promotion and popularity. The Jersey breed is currently sitting at 7% of NZs national dairy herd. Jersey Advantage brings focus to the role of breed promotion and advocacy, in collaboration with Jersey New Zealand the Jersey Cattle Breed Society. The Jersey Advantage Work Program is benefiting the dairy industry and owners of Jersey cattle in several ways: - Increasing demand for Jersey genetics and higher stock prices - An increased demand for Jersey bulls by AB companies - Faster rates of genetic gain for Jersey and the wider industry through crossbreeding - Higher milk payments for Jersey herds that accurately reflect the lower capex charges that results from processing Jersey milk - Education for non-Jersey farmers and industry leaders around Jersey's being the most efficient cow.
