Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the Trust is to provide education on the benefits to mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing by being out in and connected with nature. In particular the Trust will: 1. Provide guided Ngahere (forest) walks, hikes and workshops that align with the Trust’s core principals. 2. Introduce participants to bush craft skills, safe outdoor practice and forest knowledge; and 3. Provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose.

Entity Structure

The board can have no less than 3 trustees and up to five. The Three trustees listed constitute the initial board. The founder and chairperson Michael Woodcock has Department of Conversation guiding consents in both the Tararua and the Remutaka forest Parks and the Trust will be able to offer guided activities in line with the Trust Purpose and its principles. The chairperson is the current guide. The Trust hopes to contract from time to time other qualified individuals or organisations.
