Charitable Purpose
The Mōkihi Reforestation Trust is a community driven native plants forest restoration group based in Cromwell. It plants eco sourced native plants at sites around Cromwell and adjacent to Lake Dunstan. Mōkihi also has a nursery which currently is mainly for plant storage and hardening off prior to planting out, although we are also trialling propagation from seed. To further its planting objectives the trust also has an ongoing exploration of potential further sites for restoration. Community wise it connects with local community groups, schools, organisations and businesses in the effort to promote hands-on community land care and native ecosytem (and habitat) restoration. Plantings and maintenance days are organised in order to realise all these objectives.
