The Trust is established to provide scholarships for students completing Masters or PhD-level research at a New Zealand tertiary institution to the extent that this is a charitable purpose under the laws applying in New Zealand. The scholarships are to be awarded for research with a conservation focus or for research into technology that has a clear environmental or conservation benefit.
