Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the Trust will be to provide opportunities and services for the Palmerston town and the Waihemo Ward. In particular the Trust will: 3.1 work with local, regional, and national government authorities to encourage youth resilience by creating opportunities that will enhance the southern gateway of the Waitaki district and the eastern gateway to Central Otago; and 3.2 provide improved amenities and recreational facilities such as walking tracks. 3.3 Work towards improving the viability of the local community. Palmerston is the Southern Gateway to the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark, which is a "from the ground up" organisation to help strengthen small communities.
