Charitable Purpose

Govern, administer, provide, preserve and maintain the Urupā for the benefit of the community and those who are Tangata Whenua. To provide a place of recognition for the community and dependents of Iwi Whanau and to embrace the life and value of Ngā uri o ngā tūpuna of ngā iwi whānau.

Entity Structure

We have a head office based in Southland. Our trust deed states that we must have between three and ten Trustees. We currently have four Trustees that constitute our governance board, including four executive positions: Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson; Secretary and Treasurer. We are affiliated with the local iwi, which provides guidance and support but does not control in or in any way direct our operations.
