Charitable Purpose

The Trust Board of The Order of Capuchin Friars in New Zealand's only intention is to devote all property vested in the Trust to a charitable purpose. This purpose relates to the Trust Board’s religious character and overall intention to benefit all communities throughout New Zealand.

Entity Structure

The structure begins with the General Minister in Rome. The General Minister works alongside the Definitors and Counselors. They are all unified for the purpose of global governance of the Capuchin Friars (internationally). This team delegated authority to India then India to NZ to start up a new branch of Capuchin Friars. However, the Order of Capuchin Friars in NZ have struggled to achieve independence - they require Charitable status. The provincial delegate in NZ reports to the Indian Order.
