Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the VRFF is to undertake fire prevention measures as deemed necessary and to respond to and extinguish fires in vegetation within its designated area of responsibility for the benefit of the community. Where practicable, the volunteer rural fire force will also be available to assist other rural fire force under control of the Hawke's Bay/Tararua District of Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
