Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

NZ Parrot Trust’s mission is to aid the conservation of indigenous parrots in their native habitats. The established the NZ Parrot Trust will focus on aiding the conservation of threatened and endangered parrot species. This will be done through a mix of direct project involvement, such as re-introduction of Cyanoramphus into “mainland islands” as well as providing grants, funding and support to existing NZ based charities already working on the conversation of parrots eg Kea and Kakapo.

The NZ Parrot Trust's office is in Raglan. NZ Parrot Trust is affiliated with the World Parrot Trust which provides guidance but does not control or direct operations. The Trust will provide grants and support to existing NZ charities working on the conservation of indigenous parrots.
