Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To promote the safe and enjoyable use of the Waiorau Recreation Reserve for health recreational and sporting purposes and to promote education amongst schools, universities and other public groups on snow craft and the best practises that will ensure their safe enjoyment of alpine and snow related recreational and sporting activities.

Entity Structure

The Trust is the custodian of the Waiorau Recreation Reserve. The reserve is owned by the QLDC with the Trust having a long term lease to manage the reserve on behalf of the community. The Trust has two operating Subsidiaries- Snow Farm NZ Limited (CC49638) and Merino Muster Limited (CC61075).Snow Farm NZ Limited is responsible for the day to day running of the activities taking place on the Reserve, and Merino Muster Limited which is mainly responsible for running an annual Loppet event.
