Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To provide and promote the health benefits of Taekwon-Do to those with both physical and intellectual disabilities. To support the low socio-economic members to provide great opportunities they wouldnt have due to various challenges. To improve the disability community in their fitness, flexibility, confidence, self esteem, self defence and well-being. To encourage a more positive life and to help those in the community see they can reach their full potential regardless of physical or intellectual disability. (We support the low socio-economic members with or without disabilities in the communities we are based in. We support both children and adults with mental health challenges. We are inclusive of all.)

Entity Structure

Our head office is in Hawkes Bay with involvement in 8 special needs systems. Our trust deed states 2/3 is required at meetings for a quorum. We currently have five Trustees that constitute our governance board, including three executive positions: president, treasurer and secretary. The trust is the National Governing organisation for Special Needs Taekwon-Do in New Zealand linked to NZ-ITF which provides help and support to the success of Special Needs Taekwon-Do on the world stage.
