Charitable Purpose

The Doug Jenkins Education Trust has been set up for charitable purposes as defined by the laws of New Zealand. The Trust will use its income to award grants to Applicants studying at a Seventh-Day Adventist Church secondary or tertiary institution and who hold a current Church membership and stand in good report. The Trust will also use its income for any other purpose that is reasonably related to any of the purposes already mentioned above which the Trustee consider to be appropriate.

Entity Structure

The Trust Deed states that there must be no less than two and no more than ten Trustees appointed at any one time. All Trustees shall hold office for a maximum of ten years on first appointment. Currently there are two Trustees who constitute the governance board of the Trust. The Trustees apply the Trust Fund solely towards promoting the Trust’s charitable purposes.
