Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To advance education in young Maori students in a non-Maori community through development and delivery of a programme to improve the emotional, social, cultural, and academic outcomes of Maori children in main stream school. An inquiry into Maori student success to be addressed through development of teaching practices, profiles and cultural competance, mentoring and provision of resources.

Entity Structure

The Trustees hold shares in Inspire in Education Limited, which is also applying for charitable status. The company will receive funding and employ one person to implement the programmes referred to - the charitable purpose of the company and the trust. If any surplus funds are available to shareholders, such funds will pass to the trustees to be dealt with in accordance with the terms of the trust deed attached.
