Charitable Purpose

Tamatea Playcentre is a family/whanau led, licensed early childhood centre. We are a co-operative, community-based centre, where play and learning are valued for children and their whanau. Tamatea Playcentre's purpose is to advance education through providing early childhood education to children from birth to school age and supporting adult education and training for parents/caregivers who attend the centre.

Entity Structure

Tamatea Playcentre is managed and governed by the parents/caregivers of the children who attend the centre. Parents/caregivers of enrolled children are all members of the committee and decisions are made through consensus. Officers are elected from amongst the committee. Tamatea Playcentre is a member of Playcentre Aotearoa.
