Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Mastering Mountains Charitable Trust exists to enrich the lives of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis and Functional Neurological Disorder, first by giving select individuals a grant and support that will enable them to overcome a specific obstacle that prevents them from getting into the outdoors; and second, by working to change the general perception of neurological disease in New Zealand.

Entity Structure

We are a charitable trust based in Christchurch. Our trust deed states that we must have between three and seven Trustees, each (re)appointed for a term of two years. We currently have five Trustees which constitute our governance board. This charitable trust works with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of New Zealand. Multiple Sclerosis Society of New Zealand does not control or in any way direct our operations.
