Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Knit One, Purl One, Gift One (KOPOGO) was established to help our communities in two ways – by facilitating the donation of hand knitted and other hand crafted goods to people in need, and by raising funds for registered New Zealand charities through the sale of donated hand knitted and other hand crafted goods. The charity comes from the idea that hand knitters can make a real difference to their communities one stitch at a time.

Entity Structure

KOPOGO is based in Auckland, but will support charities and causes throughout New Zealand. Our trust deed states we must have at least three, but no more than seven Trustees. There are currently three Trustees from the same family, filling the leadership roles of chairperson, treasurer and secretary. We are starting small but have big plans for the future, and wanted to establish a charity to ensure the work we are doing now can continue into the future.
