Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Our charity's purpose is to empower elderly members of our community to maximize their own independence. We provide educational programmes that encourage a holistic view of health, and having regular education and monitoring of key health indicators (e.g. blood pressure, diabetes) Illnesses that are common for in the Pacific Island community especially within the elderly. We allow them to take ownership of their decision making, health and well-being.

Entity Structure

We have a small yet strong set of leaders and board of trustees that contribute significantly on their own expenses to make our dream for these elderly civilians come true. We have a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and three board members. We have meetings once a month and discuss and plan our activities for the next month. We reached out to people in the Mangere & Otahuhu region. However, as of today, we have elderly people willing to attend and join Kalia o Polinisia from all over Auckland.
