Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

Advance Ashburton Community Foundation's purpose and mission is to receive donations from generous people and organizations, to hold those funds invested in a formally managed portfolio, making grants from income that strengthen social services and other not-for-profit sectors operating primarily in the Ashburton District. We do this to make the Ashburton District a better place, forever.

Entity Structure

Advance Ashburton Community Foundation Board of Trustees (all voluntary positions) comprises a minimum of five trustees of whom: One is the Mayor or a sitting councillor of the Ashburton District Council, one is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & NZ, or its successor, or a member of an equivalent organisation, one is a member of the NZ Law Society. All additional trustees appointed by the Board of Advance Ashburton. There are two part-time and two full-time paid staff.
