Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purposes of the African Scholarship Trust are as follows • To promote higher education and achievement among African students by providing scholarships, grants and prizes for academic pursuits • To facilitate character development of young Africans through leadership training and the establishment of a mentoring programme • To engage and empower African women to increase their participation and leadership roles in society • To create a forum for knowledgeable discussion and resolution of issues affecting the advancement of the African in New Zealand • To undertake activities to promote excellence and higher achievement among the wider African community
