Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Advancement of education and promoting other benefits to the community by way of; (a) Advancing the spirit, intent, aims, and objectives of the Mackenzie Agreement. (b) developing a strategic and collaborative approach to the management of the Mackenzie Country that balances uses across all tenures; (c) progressively implementing the Mackenzie Agreement with local landowners (d) promoting the vision and environmental values of the Mackenzie Country as an iconic world class place; (e) educating the community and visitors to the Mackenzie Country as to the biodiversity and landscape values of the area, the social, economic, cultural and environmental implications of the uses of natural resources in the Mackenzie Country, the protection of tussock grasslands in the Mackenzie Country and otherwise promoting awareness of the Trusts activities; (f) Incentivising biodiversity and conservation on private land as part of long-term and sustainable management options.
