Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Trust's Mission is: “Connecting people and organisations through nature and the arts to grow diverse, vibrant, creative and nature-rich communities.” Its Charitable Purposes are: To advance interest and education in the natural, scientific and cultural heritage of New Zealanders by developing and mounting projects that: i. Empower young people to join with others in their neighbourhoods to create, influence and lead movements to bring nature back to backyards; ii. Reintegrate the fields of arts and nature to enable young people and communities to understand complex issues, grow as observers and enact change; iii. Provide opportunities to help young people develop 'the hybrid mind * by balancing their extensive use of digital technologies with direct experiences in nature; iv. Provide access to education resources, models, exemplars and tools to support (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv).
