Charitable Purpose

Objectives of the Trust is to administer and preserve Te Iti o Haua Marae for the benefit of Ngati Haua and to apply any income received for the following purposes : (a) Maintaining and improving Marae facilities (b) Promoting health (c) Social, cultural, spiritual and economic welfare (d) General advancement in the life of Te Iti o Haua beneficiaries

Te Iti o Haua Marae is a marae on Māori Reservation Land. The Māori Reservation Regulations 1994 require that where a reservation is a marae the trustees of the reservation shall draw up, in agreement with the beneficiaries of the marae, a charter for the reservation. A copy of the Te Iti o Haua Marae Charter is published below. This Charter is not a part of the marae's formal rules as required under s17(1)(c) of the Charities Act 2005.
