Charitable Purpose

1. Promote and advance the establishment of a Māori language immersion kura-ā-iwi affiliated to Ngāti Kauwhata-ki-te-tonga, open to all peoples that accept its special character 2. Promote and advance the improvement of Māori educational outcomes 3. Promote the educational aspirations of Ngati Kauwhata and its historical relative Ngati Raukawa by working together to raise the achievement levels of its students 4. Foster te reo Māori and Tainui kawa and tikanga 5. Provide an interface between whānau, marae, hapū and iwi, of but not limited to the Manawatū and Horowhenua district; and a the education sector; b all peoples; c non-government organisations; d local and central government organisations for the purposes of achieving 1-4 to foster thriving communities 6. To undertake, commission or participate in research that is directly associated with the purpose of the trust 7. All other activities directly associated with the purpose of the trust.
