Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

H.E.A.R.T.S. Charitable Trust exists to relieve suffering, promote wellbeing and restore dignity for individuals and whānau experiencing hardship by providing culturally grounded Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT) and related rehabilitation services. We support people who lack access to mainstream care and everyday resources, including but not limited to: Tamariki, rangatahi and kaumātua Orphans and those without stable whānau People who are blind, deaf, physically or intellectually disabled Returned service personnel and discharged prisoners Individuals affected by addiction Families facing intergenerational or financial disadvantage Victims of disaster, crisis or trauma Deliver EAT and trauma-informed rehabilitation tailored to individual needs Build partnerships with social services, counselling agencies, iwi and community networks to identify and refer participants Advocate and provide financial support (scholarships, sliding-scale fees) to ensure equitable access
