Charitable Purpose

Tairawhiti Multicultural Council was established on 22nd February 2013 and is affiliated to New Zealand Federation of Multicultural Councils Inc. The council is responsible to put into effect the objectives as follows: • •To promote joint action among multicultural communities in Tairawhiti •To promote and preserve customs languages, religions and cultures within our district and nationally •To raise consciousness among migrant/refugee/ethnic communities of the needs, aspirations and status of Tangata Whenua. This is to ensure partnerships with local iwi. •To promote the rights of individuals and groups to practice their cultural and religious beliefs without discrimination •To promote New Zealand as a multi ethnic and multicultural society •To support the work of NZFMC at national and local level •To promote peace and harmony amongst people of all races, religions and cultu
