Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Auckland girls’ Choir (AGC) mission is to provide an opportunity to girls aged 8-16 years from a broad cross-section of the community to participate in a high performance choir, receive expert choral tutelage, and engage with the community through choral performance. Through this, our goal is to develop confident, conscientious, well-rounded young women who are well equipped to succeed in and contribute to society.

Entity Structure

The AGC is governed by a ten member board which meets every six weeks. Every AGC officer is represented on the board. An AGM is held in February each year where all chorister parents vote in elections to fill any board vacancies. All members offer their time on a volunteer basis. The board is intimately involved in the day-to-day running of the AGC. AGC represents a broad cross-section of Auckland society. AGC The AGC is a member of the NZ Choral Federation, the umbrella group for choirs in NZ.
