Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Vision: "To maintain or improve the different cultural, ecological, economic and recreational values of the Whangawehi Catchment". The project manager applies to funding agencies for funds to assist with the fencing and planting of riparian areas in the lower catchment. The project manager works closely with the school, water monitoring is ongoing and a cultural survey has been completed. Comprehensive pest control and monitoring of wild life is a feature of this project, which is further enhanced by preservation of existing but threatened native bush. Public involvement is encouraged through winter planting days and summer walk/bike tours through the catchment.
