Charitable Purpose

Whānau Family Support Services Trust exists to support the wellbeing, resilience, and self-determination of whānau and individuals experiencing social and economic hardship across Te Awakairangi ki Tai and the wider Wellington region. The Trust delivers whānau-centred, mana-enhancing, and practical support through financial capability services, community education, kai security initiatives, kaumātua and community connection programmes, and pathways that strengthen independence, confidence, and long-term wellbeing. Grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and operating since 1984, the Trust works alongside whānau, communities, and partner organisations to reduce inequity, uplift mana, and enable people to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for themselves and their whānau.
