Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Entity's Purpose or Mission: * To provide a place of fellowship and skills sharing for all members of the community. The shed will be a place where members can enjoy and maintain equipment that they may not have the space for at their own home and also to give members of the community access to equipment which maybe beyond their financial reach. A place for retired members to have the opportunity to participate in community projects and share skills. The shed is a place where a parent can bring a child with a broken toy or bike and have access to either the tools or a member who will show the child how to fix it. The Shed is a place where members of the community learn how to repair and maintain household objects either for their own homes or as donations to volunteer groups or charities. The Palmerston North City Council has given their support for the project as it is seen to alleviate loneliness and create good social interaction between all the groups.
