Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Trust was formed to assist in the repair, rebuilding, restoration and on going maintenance of the building and structure known as the Church of the Holy Innocents situated at Mt Peel South Canterbury which has importance from a religious community and heritage perspective. The Trust was established following the damage to the building caused by the Canterbury earthquake on 4 September 2010 and subsequent aftershocks.

Entity Structure

The Church of the Holy Innocents Trust is established under a Charitable Trust Deed dated the 5 September 2011. The Trust is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of not less than three persons and not more than six persons to be known as Trustees. The trustees are Rosemary St John Nelson Acland Richard Hugh Acland and John Barton Acland. They are also the trust signatories.
