Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Trust's membership comprises of Ulama from across the country. The purpose is to create and provide a common platform for all the Ulama in guiding the Muslims of New Zealand as one Community. The main objectives of the Trust are to promote religious and educational advancement, to propagate and uphold Islam, and to educate and develop a true understanding of Islam amongst the New Zealand community.

Entity Structure

The Trust is incorporated under the provisions of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957. The structure of the Trust consists of two parts: (i) The Trust is administered by a Board of Trustees (the "Board"). (ii) There is a general membership of the Ulama from across the country forming a Council, which shall include the Board of Trustees. The Trust is affiliated with the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ), the peak national body of Muslims.
