Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Wharekai Pēpē is a breastfeeding support group run by Mums for Mums, with the support of a fully certified lactation consultant and overseen by a charitable trust. All of our Mums are volunteers who have encountered a variety of breastfeeding challenges themselves. We are available to ALL Mums and their whanau within the Wellington region, and we also welcome people who are able to visit us from outside this area too. We aim to offer support for a wide range of breastfeeding issues.

Entity Structure

The Trust is overseen by three volunteer Trustees. Week to week operations are carried out by a volunteer committee. The Trust employs, on a contract basis, professional lactation consultants to provide professional advice and a child carer. The operations of the Trust are financed by charitable giving and by grants.
