Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the VRFF is to undertake fire prevention measures as deemed necessary and to respond to and extinguish fires in vegetation within its designated area of responsibility for the benefit of the community. Where practicable, the VRFF will also be available to assist other Rural Fire Forces under control of the Wairarapa Rural Fire District.

Entity Structure

The affairs of the VRFF shall be administered by a Management committee consisting of a Chairperson who shall be the VRFF Controller, (or, in his/her absence a Deputy VRFF Controller), a Secretary and/ or Treasurer, and two or more committee members, but not more than ten persons.
