Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

1) To form and maintain a choir of adult auditioned members. 2) To seek members from all community areas, including diverse ethnic backgrounds, ages, and abilities. 3) To perform throughout New Zealand and from time to time overseas. 4) To encourage people to join by conducting open rehearsals. 5) To maintain a membership of between 40 to 60 choristers. 6) To provide vocal coaching, musical training, and scholarships in the interests of choral development as funds permit. 7) To perform and interact with other musical groups as opportunities arise. 8) To travel locally and internationally, representing and promoting New Zealand during tours. 9) To apply all funds raised by the Trust to the charitable purposes of the Trust.

Entity Structure

Governance is by a Trust with a Board of between 4-6 Trustees. Officers comprise a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.Operational management is undertaken by a Management Team comprised of choir members. The team has a chairperson, librarian and uniforms manager, minutes secretary and other co-opted members, the Director of Music, and a Trust Board representative. The choir is trained and directed by the Director of Music. Fund-raising is assisted with the services of a contracted Coordinator.
