Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

Takarunga Playcentre is a whānau-led, licensed early childhood centre. We are a co-operative community-based centre, where play and learning are valued for tamariki and their whānau. Playcentre is a whānau organisation where: * we empower adults and tamariki to play, work, learn and grow together *we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and celebrate everyone's uniqueness *we value and affirm parents as the first and best educators of their tamariki so that whānau are strengthened and communities enriched Adults participate in the Playcentre Education Programme which supports tamariki learning and growth through their Playcentre journey and beyond.
