Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Spirit of Coromandel Trust exists to strengthen and support community-led recreation and access across the Coromandel Peninsula. Our purpose is to enable equitable access to outdoor spaces through environmental stewardship, inclusive leadership, trail development, and community activation. Through flagship initiatives such as the Ride Coromandel Bike Park and the Coromandel Trails Collective, the Trust delivers community-led events, facilitates youth and school-based programmes, and supports the development of sustainable trails and shared recreation infrastructure. By building strong partnerships with iwi, landowners, volunteers, and local groups, we connect people, place, and purpose—through trails.
